Training Workshop on Materials based Industries & Instrumentation

Dates: 29 – 30 January 2009 (2 day certificate course)
Time: 8:30 AM – 4 PM
Venue: ITI Auditorium
Target Audience: Graduates, Undergraduates, A-Level Qualified Science Personnel

Objective: A Familiarization to the Industrial Environment

Topics Covered:

• Introduction to the industrial aspects of ceramics, rubber & plastics, wood & cellulose, and metal & mineral product manufacture.
• Introduction to instrumentation including use of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Particle Size Analyzer, Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectroscopy (FTIR), and materials processing equipment.
• Applications of nanotechnology

Fees: Rs 5750 (all inclusive) Course materials, lunch and refreshments will be provided

Please register on or before 26th January 2009. The number of participants is limited; therefore early registration is advised. The workshop will be conducted in English and Sinhala.
