ITI formulated Hand sanitizers to the market
The hand sanitizers are of high demand with the Covid pandemic in the world. Many brands of hand sanitizers available in the market but many are substandard and not complying to the required specifications of World Health Organization. During the first wave of the pandemic in March, ITI formulated a hand sanitizer as per the specifications of WHO guidelines, with 75% ethyl alcohol as the main active ingredient. This was donated to hospitals as to assist the medical staff.
On the onset of 2nd wave of the pandemic, ITI initiated a programme to get hand sanitizers manufactured according to ITI formulation developed complying to Sri Lanka Standards, SLS 1657-2020 and to market this high-quality hand sanitizer to the benefit of the public.
The launching of the product under the brand name, Sylani was held on 28.10.2020. The occasion was graced by Minister of Trade, Hon’ble Bandula Gunawardena and State Ministers, Hon’ble Seetha Arambepola, Hon’ble Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Hon’ble Channa Jayasumana and many senior officers in state sector. The product will be distributed throughout the country at a concessionary price with the assistance of Sri Lanka State Trading Corporation.
