National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 4
ITI ceremonially launched it’s first vocational training course on “Certificate for laboratory assistants” leading to National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 4 qualification.
The inauguration ceremony of the course was held on 28th August 2020, at ITI main Auditorium in the presence of Mrs. Deepa Liyanage, Additional Secretary to the State Minister Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovations, Mr. T. Senthuran Deputy Director, Registration & Accreditation QMS Division, Tertiary & Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) and the Management of ITI.
This course is designed to train the employees already engaged in laboratory work to enhance their knowledge and skills in laboratory practices up to the recruitment level of education needed by Scheme of Recruitment, NVQ Level 4. The course includes all modules of Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) competency-based curriculum required for NVQ Level 4 certificate and this is the first national level course for laboratory assistants, in Sri Lanka.
The students will get hands on experience in accredited, state of the art laboratories under the guidance of well qualified scientific staff at ITI.
